TRIBAL WELFARE ACTIVITIES IN WANAPARTHY DISTRICT

1. DEMOGRAPHY:

          The total of the Schedule Tribal population in Wanaparthy District as (Total:46062) which comes to 7.98 % of the total population of the District (5.77 lakhs).

2. Statistics of the ST Population in the Wanaparthy District

3. Department Description: The Tribal Welfare Department focuses on the welfare and development of Scheduled Tribes peoples aims to promote the Social, Educational advancement and Economic development.
4. Govt Hostels: In the District (3) pre-metric hostels (548) students are accommodated are providing along with note books, trunk boxs,plates,glasses,2 pairs of dresses, bed sheets, carpets & Cosmetic charges are supplying. And (2) Post Metric hostels (255) students are accommodated During the academic year 2026-27
5. As per the Diet Charges 2024, the food charges have been revised:

Classes 3–7: ₹950 to ₹1,330 per student/month.

Classes 8–10: ₹1,100 to ₹1,540 per student/month.

College students: ₹1,500 to ₹2,100 per student/month.

     Cosmetic Charges have been revised:

Boys (Classes 3–7): ₹55 to ₹175.,Boys (Classes 8–10): ₹75 to ₹275.

Girls (Classes 3–7): ₹62 to ₹150.,Girls (Classes 8–10): ₹62 to ₹200.

6. Post metric Scholarships: In college courses like Inter, Degree, B.Ed, M.B.B.S, MCA, Engineering etc studying students are Benefited 3.30(Three Crore Thirty Lakhs) for in years 2023-24, 2024-25, and 2025-26.
7. Pre Matric Scholarships: Sanction of Pre-Metric Scholarships to the Govt/Aided School students from 5^th to 8^th classes 1500/- for girls students and boys for 1000/- per anum under New Scheme and 9^thstandard to 10^th standard under Rajiv Vidya Deewene Scheme to all the students 2250/- Per Anum whose parental income is below Rs.1,50,000/- though EPASS website. 61 students applied for new scheme & RVD in year 2025-26
8. SSC Result During the 2025–26 academic years, in the 3 Tribal welfare hostels of Wanaparthy district, 61 students appeared in SSC Exam and achieved 100% of the students passed.
9. Incentives to Inter Caste Marriages: The Govt has announced Rs. 50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand Only). During the 2025-26(14) & 2026-27 (3) sanction Inter caste Marriage Couple incentive award
10. Corporate College Scheme: ST students are being admitted in Corporate College category as per their option. During the academic year 2026-27 total (04) students were selected under this scheme

11. Best Available Schools scheme: Quality education to the ST children’s selected under this scheme through lucky dip is admitted into the Best Available School. During the academic year 2026-27 (18) students were selected under this scheme
12. Ambedkar Overseas Vidya Nidhi: The Department is sanctioning Ambedkar overseas Vidya Nidhi Scholarship of Rs. 20.00 lakhs to ST student sponsored for pursuing PG course in the countries, like USA, UK, Canada, Australia etc. During the academic year 2024-25 (04) students were selected under this scheme
13. Admission into Hyderabad Public School:-

The Department is sponsoring Scheduled Tribe candidates to the Schools identified under Hyderabad Public School, in 2026-27, as per population (06) were allotted and filled in HPS.(3) ST student are selected at District level and forwarded to CTW, TS, Hyd. (01)  Student selected at State Level drawl of lots for admission into Hyderabad Public School.

14. GRE / GMAT and TOFEL etc., coaching for ST students:-

Further, the Department is also sponsoring ST students to the reputed coaching institutions for GRE, TOFLE etc. to enable the students to qualify for going abroad and avail the scholarship under Ambedkar Overseas Vidya Nidhi.

15. FINANCE ASSISTANTS TO ST LAW GRADUATES:-

            The Tribal Welfare Department is providing training to scheduled tribe law graduates. The Department is providing stipend for Rs. 1,000/- per month for (3) Years and Rs. 6,000/- released for purchase of Library Books.

16  CM Entrepreneurship for ST Entrepreneurs:-

Under Tribal Welfare Dept., TRICOR, are selecting Entrepreneurs through examination and interview process to establish a Industries with an subsidy 35% and remaining Bank portion under this scheme.
