ASST. DIRECTOR OF MINES & GEOLOGY .

FUNCTIONS OF THE DEPARTMENT:

It is submitted that the Department of Mines and Geology, is an investigative, Administrative, and promotional arm of the State Government in Mineral Development.  This office is carrying out the functions of Regulatory, Promotional, and collection of Mineral Revenue to the State Exchequer. 

The Regulatory work involves receipt and processing of Quarry Lease applications under Mineral Concession Rules, Inspection of applied areas / leased out areas, to monitor the conservation and control of illicit Mining and Quarrying and transportation of Minerals.

It is submitted that (60) Quarry leases are existing in the district which details as follows:

The minerals Quartz and Feldspar are occurring as veins/reefs/mounds etc., in pegmatite veins of the proterozoic age which are mainly used in Glass and Ceramic Industries. The Black Granite occurs in the District as basic dykes of Dolerite of the proterozoic age. The Colour Granite occurs in the District as Granodiorites of the archean age. The Rough Stone & Road Metal occurs in the District as Granite / Gneiss of the peninsular Gneissic Complex of the Archean age.

The mineral will be extracted and transported from the Quarry leased area after payment of the Seigniorage Fee in advance.        

1. INFRASTRUCTURE:

The State Government vide G.O. Ms No. 328, Industries & Comm. (Mines, I-Department) Dt: 11.10.2016 issued Notification formulating Wanaparthy District w.e.f. 11.10.2016.  The Wanaparthy District consists of (14) Mandals covered in (1) Revenue Division.  The major mining activity in the District is the quarrying of Building materials, Quartz, Quartz & Feldspar, Stone & Metal, and Granite.

The office of the Asst. Director of Mines & Geology, Wanaparthy District is established on 11.10.2016.  The allotted officers/staff to the office of the ADM&G, Wanaparthy District is as follows:

2. SCHEMES:

PMKKKY: DMFT Rules-2015 regarding simplification of procedure for identification of affected areas and implementation of welfare schemes/projects specified under Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra KalyanYojana (PMKKKY) in an effective manner.     

The District Mineral Foundation Trust, Wanaparthy was established in the District, and contribution of DMF @ 30% equivalent to Seigniorage Fee is being collected regularly from leaseholders/stakeholders which accrued amount up to Aug-2022 is 6,27,29,472/-. The amount will be utilized for taking care of the area affected due to mining and related operations by the District Government in terms of G.O.Ms.No.38 (Ind.& Com.), Dt:31.05.2018 under the PMKKKY scheme.

3. MINERAL REVENUE ACHIEVEMENT UP TO 30.09.2022:
