HANDLOOMS AND TEXTILES
BRIEF INTRODUCTION ABOUT HANDLOOMS AND TEXTILES DEPARTMENT:
The Wanaparthy District is having (410) Geo tagged looms. In the district the following Development and Welfare schemes are being implemented by the Department and the progress is as under:
Cash Credit:
Under the scheme, for the year 2025-26 , (01) societY proposal have been received by this office and forwarded to the DCCB, Mahabubnagar with the approval of the Dist. Collector, Wanaparthy for sanction of C.C .Limit of Rs.410.00 lakhs to provide more work to the weavers of the society. The sanction is awaited.
(Nethanna Podupu)Thrift Fund Scheme:
The State Govt. has re- launched “Telangana State Handloom Weavers Thrift fund and Savings – cum-Security scheme” for the benefit of the weavers.. The Commissioner of Handlooms and Textiles, T.G. Hyderabad has communicated the revised Operation Guidelines. So far (641) weavers and Ancillary weavers were enrolled into the scheme and an amount of Rs.11,05,600/- have been transferred to the (641) Handloom weavers RD-II accounts.
Nethanna Bhima Scheme:
The Government of Telangana is Launched the Nethanna Bhima scheme on par with Rythu Bhima scheme and to enroll the eligible Weavers and Ancillary workers who are covered under Nethannaku Cheyutha (Handloom Thrift fund) and who are between age 18-59 years and depending upon weaving activity. (641) eligible weavers & Ancillary workers have been enrolled into the scheme and the risk coverage is Rs. 5.00 Lakhs. So far under this scheme, (07) nominee of the deceased Handloom weaver has received an amount of Rs.75.00 Lakhs directly from LIC through DBT method.
Loan waiver to Handloom weavers:
The Government has accorded in-principal approval for the Loan waiver Scheme with a total outlay of Rs. 33.00 Cores to the individual Handloom Weavers with a ceiling up to Rs.1.00 lakh (Rupees One Lakh only) for each individual Handloom Weaver Outstanding loan for the period from 01-04-2017 to 31-03-2024 to relieve the Individual Handloom Weavers from the indebtedness and to obtain fresh working capital. (338) weaver list for an amount of Rs.2.54 Cores forwarded to SLBC after approval in DLC for Sanction of amount. The HOD has sanctioned and released an amount of Rs.1.27 cores to waive the loan amount. The amount will be released to the concerned weavers through banks shortly as per the directions of HOD.
NHDP Block Level Cluster:
Under the scheme, a Block Level Cluster of Rs.104.60 lakhs was sanctioned to the Veltoor Society to the benefit of (235) Handloom weavers. The first installment of Rs.31.85 lakhs was released, for which an amount of Rs.30.96 lakhs was spent on looms, training, in weaving, training in dying and training in new designs. Further 2nd installment of Rs: 17.00 lakhs has been sanctioned by the O/o (H&T) T.G. Hyd and ordered for supply of looms, Accessories & bobbins.
Further it is submitted that, the Amarachinta Cluster Development programme has sanctioned with (209) Handloom Weavers. The first installment of Rs. 26.795 lakhs has sanctioned and supplied looms and equipments by the firms. Items are received and distributed to the concerned.
