ZILLA PRAJA PARISHAD

1. BRIEF INTRODUCTION OF THE DEPARTMENT:

In exercise of the powers conferred under sections 172(1),173,142,143, and 144 of  Panchayat Raj Act2018 (Act No.5 of 2018) of Telangana the Government hereby constitutes the Zilla Praja Parishad Wanaparthy and (14) Mandal Praja Parishads in this district and these Zilla Praja Parishad and (14) Mandal Praja Parishad and their constituencies shall come into existence w.e.f 05.07.2019 in respect of Zilla Praja Parishad, Wanaparthy and its constituencies and 04.07.2019 in respect of Mandal Praja Parishads and its constituencies vide G.O MS.No.16, Dated. 02.03.2019 of PR&RD (PTS.III) Department.

2. ZP GENERAL FUNDS GRANTS:

• Seignorage Grant: These grants were received from Commissioner, Panchayat Raj Hyd.
• 4/- Per Capita: These grants were received from Commissioner, Panchayat Raj Hyd.
• Sand auction cess: These grants were received from the Dist.  Revenue Department.
• Stamp Duties: These grants were received from the Dist.  Registration Department.
• Rents: These grants were received from Zilla Parishad own resources

5. SPECIAL INITIATIVES: 

 Zilla Praja Parishad constituted the following standing Committees, the subjects assigned to each such Standing Committee being those specified against it namely.

Standing Committee for Works, Planning, and Finance: Public works, District Plan, budget, taxation, finance, and coordination of the work relating to other Committees.

Standing Committee for Rural Development: Poverty Alleviation Programmes, Area Development Programmes, Employment, Housing, Co-operation, Thrift and small savings, industries including cottage, village and small scale industries, trusts, and statistics.

Standing Committee for Agriculture: Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Soil Reclamation including contour bunding, Social Forestry, Fisheries, and Sericulture.

Standing Committee for Education and Medical Services: Education including Social Education, Medical Services, Public Health and Sanitation including drainage, relief for distress in grave emergencies.

Standing Committee for Women Welfare: Development of women and welfare of children.

Standing Committee for Social Welfare: Social Welfare of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes and Cultural Affairs.

Standing Committee for Works: Communications, rural water supply, power, and irrigation.

6. ZP General Body Meeting:

As per the Telangana Panchayat Raja Act, No.5 of 2018 under Section 189 (6)-the ZP General Body Meeting shall be conducted at least one meeting of the Zilla Praja Parishad is held every ninety days.
