World forest day celebration in Wanaparthy District.

The Hon’ble District Collector Smt. Shaik Yasmeen Basha, IAS, directed the concerned authorities to ensure that forests are very useful for environmental protection and that everyone should work hard to increase the forest resources in Wanaparthy district by 33 percent.
The Hon’ble District Collector Smt. Shaik Yasmeen Basha, IAS, was the chief guest at the event organized at Wanaparthy Local Eco Park on the occasion of “World Forest Day” on Monday, Speaking on the occasion, she said that efforts should be made to increase the forest cover to 33 percent of the forest area in the district. In the greening program for Telangana, plants have been planted in 6 installments so far and 1 crore 50 lakh plants are being protected in the district. At present only 5 percent of the forest lands in Wanaparthy district are covered with plants, The district collector directed the forest officials to plant trees on 28 acres as it was the responsibility of everyone to increase the forest area.
