A short Introduction to Industries Department Activities:
The DIC is an integrated institution at the district level which provides all types of services and facilities to entrepreneurs. The entrepreneurs can get assistance from DIC for setting up and running the industry.
In the formation of new districts, one District Industries Center was established in Wanaparthy District and it is functioning since 11/10/2016.
The DICs can play an effective role with regard to interlink ages with different institutions such as the electricity department, department of water works, municipality/Gram panchayat, town planning, commercial banks, etc. The DICs should function in close coordination with all agencies related to industrial development at the district level. To ensure this, there should be a single line of command operating from the DIC for the entire field staff connected with industrial promotion activities
Scheme and activities of the Department:
1. TG-iPASS: Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self- Certification System (TG-iPASS) Act,2014.
The Telangana Government has enacted the “Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self-Certification System (TG-iPASS) Act, 2014 for the speedy processing of applications for the issue of various approvals/clearances required for setting up of industries at a single point based on the self-certificate provided by the entrepreneur and also to create an investor-friendly environment in the State of Telangana. The District Level Committee under the Chairmanship of the District Collector will review the progress in the district.

2. UDYAM REGISTRATION (This is introduced in place of UDYOG AADHAR):
The Ministry of MSME, in consultation with the National Board of MSMEs and the Advisory Committee on this behalf, has prepared a one-page registration form that would constitute a self-declaration format under which the MSME will self-certify its existence, bank account details promoter/owner’s Aadhaar details and other minimum basic information required. Based on the same the MSMEs can be issued online, a unique identified i.e. Udyam Registration Memorandum/Registration certificate after commencement of production through an online website Link: http://Udyamregistration.gov.in
3. RAW MATERIALS:
Industries that use certain Scarce Raw Materials like Alcohol, Molasses, Ethanol, Coal, etc. The Department of Industries assists such industries in processing and monitoring the proper utilization of these raw materials.

Telangana MSME Policy 2024
The Telangana MSME Policy 2024 was launched by the Government of Telangana on 18 September 2024. The policy aims to promote the establishment, growth and modernization of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), generate employment and make Telangana a leading destination for MSME investment. It provides end-to-end support from ideation and establishment to production
The major objectives of the policy are to:
- Promote inclusive employment and equitable economic growth.
- Encourage entrepreneurship, particularly among women, SC/ST and PwD entrepreneurs.
- Improve productivity and competitiveness through technology adoption.
- Facilitate the growth of MSMEs from small enterprises into larger, competitive businesses.
- Promote exports and import substitution.

5. PRIME MINISTER’S EMPLOYMENT GENERATION PROGRAMME (PMEGP):
A Centrally sponsored scheme, Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) is an opportunity for unemployed youth to set up New Industrial Units in Rural & Urban areas of Telangana State by inviting the applications through online website Link: www.kviconline.gov.in (or) PMEGP e-portal.

During the year 2025-26, a target of (20) units with financial outlay of Rs.74.30 lakhs has been allocated to this district. As on 31.03.2026 the progress under PMEGP is as follows:-

ii) PM VISHWAKRMA:
The Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma (PMVK) Yojana was launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on September 17th, 2023. (The scheme is implemented for five years, initially up to 2027-28) Its primary objective is to enhance the skills of traditional artisans and craftspeople (Vishwakarma’s) by providing them with modern tools, techniques, and credit support to expand their businesses.
